Missionary Support

The Church continues its commitment to several missionaries.

This includes, since the late 50’s, support to Rev. Dale and Ruth Schanely, for Student Mission in Venezuela.  The Schanelys went to Merida, Venezuela, to pastor a small Protestant church in 1953.  His ministry started from a garage size space, and today, under his leadership, The Christian University Student Bible Study Club has grown to fill the space of a stadium.  The Community Church of Yorktown has been the only continuous source of support for this mission.

The Church also continuously supports Paul and Mary Mullen's Wycliffe Bible Translators in Brazil; and Russ and Donna Reinert, who also worked with Wycliffe Bible Translators at the heart of Amazon Basin.

In 2007 the Reinerts retired, so we began to support Children’s Bible Fellowship of New York, in Carmel.

Community Support

The Church continues its years of support to Yorktown Food Pantry.  The Church also supported Croton Group Home via two benefit concerts in 2008.  The concerts were partially funded by Huntersville Association.
